From capacity grid to student timetables

For each subject, set how many classes run at once and the smallest and largest class. P16 creates the classes in every subject slot and allocates students without clashes. A student with a spare period gets a gap activity, such as a Q and A session.

Attendance recorded by QR code

Each student has a QR code for their session, shown on their phone. A member of staff scans it on a phone or tablet as the student arrives. No extra hardware is needed, and a token can be pasted in by hand if the camera is not available.

Questions about taster days

How does automatic timetable generation work?
You set how many classes run at once for each subject, and the smallest and largest class size. P16 then allocates students to sessions without clashes. You can change any individual allocation by hand afterwards.
How does QR sign-in work at a taster day?
Each student has a QR code for every session they are allocated to. Staff scan it with a phone or tablet as the student arrives, and attendance is recorded straight away. Late arrivals and no-shows show up on the staff view.
Can we reuse our taster day setup from last year?
Yes. Save the structure of the day as a named template. Next year, apply the template and adjust the times and capacities instead of building the day again.
Can we download student timetables?
Yes. Student timetables can be downloaded one at a time or in bulk as a spreadsheet. A full planning spreadsheet is also available for printing or use outside the system.
